Crestor Side Effects

Crestor, the commercial name for roduvastatin calcium is one of the many medications in the market. Crestor helps lower LDL or bad cholesterol produced in your liver. It also helps slow down plaque buildup in your arteries, preventing them from being blocked.

However, with every medications, there are side effects, and Crestor also has side effects. The most common side effects caused by Crestor are headache, muscle pain, abdominal pain, weakness, and nausea.

Serious side effects caused by Crestor may include muscle problems, and also liver problems. If you experience unexplained muscle pain, weakness, or tenderness, especially with fever, do call your doctor immediately. These may be early signs of a rare muscle problem, which could lead to fatal kidney problems. The risk is greater if you are over 65, or already have kidney or thyroid problems.

If you need to take Crestor, do get your blood tested before taking it, and during treatment, get checked for signs of liver problems. You don't want other complications just because you need to lower your cholesterol levels, do you? Perhaps you should read more on Crestor lawsuit to see what you can do to protect yourself.

I should go and check if my dad's cholesterol meds include Crestor, and have them changed if they are indeed, Crestor. Perhaps I should suggest that my dad go for healthier alternatives than just taking medications. Cheerio!
