Food Friday #38 - Butter Cookies with Star Sugar Sprinkles

Jojo and I helped our mom bake some cornflakes cookies last night. We also baked some butter cookies! It was our first time baking cookies from scratch and I must say, it was a success!

Before the butter cookies were baked :)

I don't fancy baking, but I'm proud to say that I've baked some brownies and cakes successfully. These butter cookies are super easy to prepare and bake, but you will need to monitor them while they're baking in the oven to avoid them from getting burned. I swear the cookie mix tasted like Subway chewy cookies.

Jojo helped me with the cookie decor, and I love these sugar stars. The whole house smelled really good last night, and it reminded me of some sort of vanilla scented candles. Lol!

After the butter cookies were baked :)

Wish I could share these cookies with you, but otherwise, enjoy the pics! :)

Food Fiday #37 - Marble Chocolate Cake

This is the marble chocolate cake I baked last night. Of course, I cut it into smaller pieces and I must say, it looks and tastes all right. It's a little dry for my liking, despite adding some vegetable oil into the mixture, but my mom gave it a thumb up. She even brought some to work today. Therefore, I consider it a success!

I have a few recipes for moist chocolate cake. I'll definitely experiment more soon (this time from scratch) and you'll see the results here! :) TGIF and happy baking!

Food Friday #36 - Home-baked Brownies

I celebrated my birthday just a week ago, but I didn't have any birthday cake because I was sick with cold and cough. :( Therefore, I thought I should bake, and I did! I baked these brownies a few days ago using brownies mix in a box. I can't bake from scratch (yet!) but I plan to bake more soon. I went easy on the vegetable oil for these brownies, so they appeared rather dry. However, after a few days, I swear they became moist and tasted even better! My mom, who's my biggest critic, loved it and requested me to bake more. I felt like a proud junior baker when she said that!

Tip: I added melted Cadbury chocolate and some chocolate chips into the mix for that extra, extra chocolate-y taste! I also sprinkled some chocolate rice on top of the mix right before baking! ;)

A special shout out goes to Ane for writing a special PHAT birthday post for me. Thanks so much, Ane! Love ya!

Thanks everyone, especially to Yenny and Shemah for the birthday wishes. :)
